Stirling Council Planning Service is currently gathering information and evidence in preparation for the next Stirling Area Local Development Plan. As part of this process we would like to consult with groups and individuals who have an interest in heritage – specifically we would like you to share your views through a mini-consultation on how heritage is recognised, cared for and managed. As a first step we would like to be able to contact you to let you know when this consultation exercise is live, and so would be grateful if you would agree to your contact details being added to the consultation list for the Stirling Local Development Plan? Further information about the new Plan can be found here https://www.stirling.gov.uk/planning-and-building/planning/development-planning/developing-our-next-stirling-local-development-plan/. The Smith Museum
The Stirling Smith Art Gallery & Museum would like to invite you to the opening of our newest exhibition, MACH2 by David & Robert Mach.
2024 is a very special year for us here at The Smith as it marks our 150th anniversary as well as Stirling’s 900th anniversary. We are pleased to start celebrating with what promises to be a colourful and exciting exhibition.
David Mach is one of the UK’s most successful and respected artists, known for his dynamic and imaginative large-scale collages, sculptures and installations using diverse media, including coat hangers, matches, magazines and many other materials. His brother Robert, who exhibited at The Smith in 2021, is known for his signature foil sweet wrappers creations. Though they have worked together for many years, this is the brothers’ first joint exhibition.
Please join us on Friday, 26 January 6-8pm to celebrate this exhibition with us. Please bring guests, or pass on the invitation to those you know who would be interested. O my Luve is like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve is like the melody
That’s sweetly played in tune.
So fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.
Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.
