Big Digs.......King's Park 2024: rediscovering a lost Bronze Age Cemetery.
Some results from my annual busman's holiday
Kings Park….
So as you all know I spend a lot of July and August digging, first in Battle Hill, Huntly on a newly discovered hillfort and then in King’s Park Stirling on another newly discovered hillfort and a Bronze Age cemetery. Kings Park runs from Tuesday 6th August and runs for 2 weeks. This will return to our Roman period small fort at the highest point of Kings Park and but also uncover an element of lost Bronze Age cemetery. Please come along if you fancy a nosy. Take either of the paths to the south of the Tennis courts and walk west…..look for odd people, with strange clothes having fun in holes….(definitely not golfers!). For those that can’t make it I will produce lots of updates and videos!
And here is a wee video from the site….
and the volunteers who do all the work!
The lost 4000 year old cemetery!
Next week I’ll post something from the fort!

I'm curious about the bricks, any manufacturer's marks on them? Also, is this site close to this cup and ring stone?
